disclaimer: i take music waaaaaaay to seriously oye...ok...so i just downloaded (thanks sam) this beast...i didn't finish listening to all of it though, because, quite naturally, after listening to the remix of riding the wave, i simply had to come here and talk about it...it almost sounds like there are two different songs going on...for the first minute or so, i was like, "i dunno..." i was expecting it to be different, but not that different, but when the vocals come in for the first time it's like walking out of mist or a soft snow storm or something like that...it's gripping...i love the piano chords against the strings (i think) in the back ground, i think they've got a dark, stormy quality to them and then the vocals are like still water and so clear...i actually had to sit back and just think about it...soak it in...they say music is really good if it makes you want to dance...but i think it's that *motions with fingers* much better if it's so beautiful you can't move for fear of ruining the moment... word

At first listen I thought that as well, but then soon came to realize it retains all the glory of the previous remixes ;D

At first listen I thought that as well, but then soon came to realize it retains all the glory of the previous remixes ;D agreed...at first i was like...where is my guitar?...i must have the guitar...and also, i was hessitant for the first minute, but once the vocals hit, it all made sense...i'm not sure whether it was on purpose (the best things happen by accident though i'd like to think everything axwell does is totally thought out ) but there's a sort of juxtaposition between the intro and the portion with the vocals...they highlight each other and then at the end they come together and it just works

yeah, thanks for the kind words. u know im happy to see your thoughs, cause as u can hear its different, it has different sections, some more old school axwell and some a bit different, this was the plan, i wanted something really bumpy in my sets as well as i wanted to have the big piano break, i must admit, in the club - it really really works!

Ax, the piano break is so fantastic! I think, it's really the best part of the remix! Thanks for this wonderful project!

nice rework of sunfreakz, the horn kinda thing, reminds me of a 90's house song, can't come up with the name of that. It indeed is a bumpy sound ;D but especially love the breakdown. Good thing that i'm not hearing any guitars, cause that's what i found kinda cheesy to the original, sorry for that Roy, that's what I think of it.

To be honest, i dont really like that remix, doesnt have that something special to it that all the other ax remixes have..sorry ax to disappoint but the beat is just a little off it seems to me...well, to be very very very honest then i must say this is the remix i like least from what uve produced... my fav is def. Transatlantic Flight and Jump...
hope ur not too mad at me:)))

@ Edwin: I think u r right, the horns remind me on "Spike vs. Nomad - (I wanna give you) Devotion" - maybe you mean the same track.
First I was a little bit disappointed as well, BUT, especially if we think of Ax's words why he made this track that way, it's is really good. Fact is - you cant play the whole evening songs like "jump". For me, an evnening (even a set) is like a song - it needs breaks.
And for a break, just to give the audience a few minutes to take a breather, this song is perfekt... I'm really looking forward playing it and making the people happy... well thats not my merit but Ax's! :-)
And another thing: never ever judge a track unless you have heard it on a pa... when I listend to the Transatlantic Flight at the frist time I thought, nice work, nothing serious... WHAT A MISTAKE :-)

Out now on Vinyl - at least a test pressing by OXYD Rec. - don't know if it's only cut out from a set... the official release is on Positiva I think.
Edit: it is definitely on Positiva - 16.11.2006
