Hello Guys,
I know times changed, that electro is everywhere.
But, eventhough i still like Axwell nowadays, I can't stand to think about his old tracks which are beautiful :
"Watch the sunrise" is probably one of my favourite.
"World Hold On (Axwell Remix)", "Feel the vibe"...
And the best ever (with sebastian Ingrosso)
"Together" !!
So please, come back to f**kIN' HOUSE MUSIC !!!

Love & Respect to Mr Axwell Flip' Electro is EVERYWHERE!! I wouldnt pigeon hole Ax though. Lets not forget he can flip his hand to almost any genre and i think hes covered most of them now. Such a universal crossover artist proven!! I would expect alot more to come style wise. Seen as one of Ax's inspirations is Pharell i myself would like to see if he can flip his hand to a cross over hip hop track, possibly like his real early stuff but with a different flavour. I actually can't stand the "I miss the former Axwell" discussion since I like his development and I don't see any "former" Axwell.
Maybe he should keep the "commercial" thing in mind - but I'm sure he does so.

I'm agree with you , but when I said 'Electro is Everywhere', I talked about the current wave in Electronic Music today, not only Ax's tunes.
And when I said the 'former' Axwell, it is because he used to produce so hudge tracks which have been so different from nowadays, and it was the same for Steve Angello, Prydz etc all the Swedish house mafia actually.
So, I can say I miss this period where tracks sounds more 'House' than electro.
That's what I wanted to say, and I'm sure Axwell is thinking about this period.

Ok - I know what you mean - maybe I even agree a little bit with you (  - but I would say Elektro is House - and I woudl say Ax doesn't produce Elektro - maybe they are now in a period where they search a new style.... All in all they (SHM) are again one step in advance - and I would say let's give them the time to develop a new way of House... I'm so sick of this boring, cheap Elektro sound - like you |

I miss the old style as well... but I doubt he's intentionally changing. Most producers write what's in their heads, nothing more.

i wouldn't say ax has compromised his sound at all. House music has changed but he has still managed to keep that classic swedish sound along with the new sound. I like how he hasn't gone down the Tech house route and is still keeping the energetic uplifting house that he is famous for.
I would put "i shall overcome", "i found you", "you lose" in the same bracket as "together" and "feel the vibe".
@ Kris Kay - i have to 100% disagree, i would hate axwell to do any hip-hop track. To me that would just be one of the worst things he could do. Just look at Bob Sinclair, such a great producer who is churning out a whole load of rubbish these days. Its selling yourself short for a quick buck!

Dont forget Ax has already said he has never written off the mambana project, and a new supermode on the way. Theres a world of styles why not try them all out, Ax has managed, so many styles already. Whats the harm in it. I see where your coming from tho as in it wont appeal to yourself KK/ ;D |

Im sure bob s trying his hand at different project as opposed to making a quick buck. Commercial music and $$ go hand in hand ie you make $$$ off it as its commercial and more people will buy it. Also there is noting wrong with Getting your name out and appealing to diffrent audiences. Dont forget its the public who make music commercial as we see it. You could say if ound you ws commercial as it blew the place up but. Difficult subject really! |

I miss things as well. Tell u what i really miss....the old french 97, 98 wave, of positive chunky - not nescessarily pumping house...
nowadays, stuff is very minimal as u say, not so melodic, and very few vocals...its how the floors are now - thats the fact basically, and as a dj and producer i follow the wave , but at the same time i try to create new waves as well.
Anyhow, im happy that you guys are looking for something more in music than just the one note electro bassline, and believe me, im trying to stay in the forefront all the time. Got some interesting things ahead hopefully.

It's funny, that axwell mentioned the old 97 french style, because just a few days ago i listened to the old daft punk em, i think it was 97. I was really thrilled, cause it was really refreshing at first, but as i had the whole set through, i threw in a dahlbäck track and...omg... That was Refreshing!!! To be honest I think I might be too young to have a real bond to the "old" sound, but still I would say that the evolution of house is going in the right direction... Productions have become so much more sophisticated and I think as long as there are people like axwell in the business, who constantly keep evolving their style, we'll never lose the musical touch in house music... Yes, house might have become more electro, or more minimal these days, but i think it just grew up and I think we should be looking into the future and all the great things that have still to happen rather than looking back... p.s.: The idea of axwell producing hip hop is great... He would definately have this sort of pharrell groove to it  |

1. No f**king hiphop please. Pharell is great, but if axs gets the chance to collaborate with him, it definately should be a house track.
2. I think most of us miss that old stuff, of course. All that great french house, i really like listening to it. but well, the world changes, and i dont think we had bad luck. Ax never really produced any boring electro stuff, the most electro tune is probably the let it go remix, and it still has melody and a great vibe. i do hope, that ax does some more things like i shall overcome, and im sure he will. cant wait for new stuff!!

I can't stand the whole Hip Hip stuff - I'm also not a fan of Axwell's Mixes of Pharrel and Nelly F...
There have been some good productions from Timbaland like "The way I ware" or "Apologize" - but I think Axwell shouldn't go in this direction.

I'm no fan of 50 cent or that whole gangsta thing either, but Pharrell just adds a whole new vibe to hiphop, just like ax does to house, so I stick to it, an axwell hip hop beat would def rock it for me ;D

Deadmau5's maybe the best producer currently..
Ax was the n°1 last 2 years maybe : but submariner was not awesome, like "i shall overcome"

I must disagree...
Sure Deadmau5 put out some great tracks in the last year or so, but if your honest it's just always the same really... Eric is going the same way, but because he only releases 1 out of a hundred tunes he produces, it's still special...
Axwell has always and with every single production brought a totally different side of house music, almost reinventing it every time... That's why he now is and probably will always be the best producer of all times in my opinion...
