I read somewhere that Axwell played the tocadisco remix.....but i cant seem to find that mix anywhere. I was wondering if someone could shed some light on this confusion on mine.
Greatly Appreciated

Poor man having to pander to Famous' shit crowd the shit crowd has no impact on 'how' he played jimmy. don't turn this into one of your trademark 'famous = shit crowd' threads. He still played a great set, went down a treat

He still played a great set, went down a treat Yes, a shit crowd does impact on 'how' a dj plays. If a crowd comes wanting to be challenged with music they've never heard, then a DJ has to step up and show what he's got with track selection, mixing and flow. If it's just 'play the stuff we know', then he can just throw records on and mix (although props to Toca for some very nice scratching) I won't hijack this thread except to say what I thought about Toca's set a Famous, then we can talk about the song again. I'll also preface this by saying I was very hungover from Trentemoller the night before. Personally I thought it was just Toca throwing on tracks that he knew would get a reaction, rather than trying to challenge the crowd. I don't know what he played at Summadayze, but from all reports he tore the place to bits (I saw Mylo, he was awesome). Maybe I went with my expectations too high, expecting to have my ears melted off, but all I got was the same thin bassline all night, with only the occasional song (and some nice scratching) getting me going, and no "Nobody Likes The Records That I Play" Ok, back to the song. It is a good'un

It is a good'un How is the dj meant to know if the crowd has come wanting to be challenged with music they've never heard? What your saying is too far-fetched. Sure there is going to be more musically knowledged people at events/nights than others but this doesn't imply that the dj should play to suit those people. Most of the people for that particular night would have gone to have a good time not to analyse and criticise his track selection and mixing, so would of enjoyed anything he chose to play. He chose to play a commercial set because he knew that would get the best reaction and would leave a majority of the punters satisfied. I don't think he played with the impression that people would walk away from his set complaining that he didn't play 'Nobody Likes The Records That I Play'. There is also the probability that he was advised or encouraged to play such a set. Anyway, I understand the points you're trying to make but its difficult for a dj to gauge what the crowd wants to hear until he actually starts playing and gets a reaction..
